1. What are the differences between Snapmaker Artisan and Snapmaker 2.0?

Here is a “cheat sheet” for you to drill down to the specs.

2. Which model will best suit my needs?

Snapmaker Artisan is the latest generation of our 3-in-1 3D printer series. It’s larger, stronger, safer, and more accessible than ever. Ideal for professionals like engineers, small business owners, architects, product designers, and developers, Artisan can help its users produce high-quality models and works with consistency. The 400 mm × 400 mm × 400 mm large work area would benefit small businesses and large-format prototyping. You can make large things like transportation or architecture models in one piece or print products in batches, increasing your production efficiency. Moreover, with Dual Extrusion 3D Printing Module, printing models with complex geometry is no longer a problem.

Though the product design of Artisan is geared toward the needs of intermediate users and veterans, we also make it even easier and smarter for operation. No matter your level of expertise, our machines are designed for you to use with ease. Even an entry-level user can quickly get the know-how of Artisan.

  1. Thanks, that was pretty helpful. Despite me having a small desk space, and I was planning to get an A250T with the 10W laser module, I decided to go for the Artisan.

  2. I have the air purifier and the 4th axis and the stop button and the hub for my 350 will I need to buy these again for the Artisan?

  3. 8. I’m from an EU country. What is the VAT-inclusive price of Artisan?

The MSRP price is €3299 €2999 (Free Shipping).

Q: Is VAT-inclusive or exclusive? Is 2999 all for pay or a have add VAT to 2999?

  4. 2 questions, I did not find answers to.

    1) Dual extrusion head, can you clarify this phrase

“The Dual Extrusion 3D Printing Module also uses a built-in motor to automatically lift and shift between two extruders, without extra tool head movement or switch toggling.”

Does this mean that the head not printing is “lifted” up and not only the filament retracted?

    2) For the CNC, I need to cut holes on the cover of plastic that is around 80 mm high. What’s the maximum thickness of material I can attach and CNC on it, I assume the head/motor etc will take space in the 400 mm Z space?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Simon,
      1. In major dual extruders available on the market, the two extruders are usually mechanically lifted, which means time-consuming procedure in which the toolhead has to move along the X axis and hits either end of it to complete the switching. In Artisan, the extruders are automatically lifted by the lead screw stepper motor, which enhances the swapping efficiency and eliminates the noise caused by mechanical lifting.
      2. Your assumption is right. The max. recommended feed speed for 200W CNC Module is 3000 mm/min, with 2 mm step down.

      1. Thanks for the 2 answers, to clarify,

        1) The 2 heads are lifted separately according to which one is printing?
        2) I was asking the maximum height of piece I can attach for milling with the CNC? I need to cut holes on top of plastic boxes. I was not asking about the speed.

        Thanks!

  5. We have got in store only hot ends for dual extruder with note “compatibility • Snapmaker Artisan”.
So, will we buy dual extruder for SM 2.0 and when?

    1. You will send Artisan in Dec’23, so dual extruder for Snapmaker 2.0 will be “soon” in Dec’22 or Mar’23?

  6. Hi,
I have 2 questions about the Artisan:
    1. is it possible to change the nozzles manually with the dual hotend’s?
    2. if so which nozzles can I use?

    With thanks in advance
    J.Lamprecht
