So Long, and Thanks for All the Makes
A product lifecycle update for the Snapmaker 2.0 Series, J1/J1s, and Ray Series
Every great journey has a final chapter. Today, we're writing one for three product lines that helped define who we are: the Snapmaker 2.0 Series, the Snapmaker J1/J1s, and the Snapmaker Ray Series have reached End of Life (EOL).
Before anything else, let's be clear about what that means and what it doesn't:
EOL means these products will no longer be manufactured or actively sold through Snapmaker official channels. Remaining inventory will continue to be available through selected Snapmaker official stores and authorized resellers while supplies last. It does not mean the end of support. Your machine will keep working, your warranty remains valid, and we will continue to provide software maintenance, firmware fixes, spare parts, and technical support according to the timeline below.
In other words: Don't Panic.
Key dates to remember
After years of serving makers around the world, these products have reached the natural end of their production lifecycle. This allows us to focus future resources on new platforms while continuing to support existing users.
Different aspects of product support follow different lifecycle schedules. The timeline below explains what you can expect.
💡 EOL dates to remember:
Software bug fixes & compatibility maintenance = October 29, 2028
Firmware critical fixes & security patches = October 29, 2029
Spare parts, repair service & technical support* = available during the applicable support period, subject to parts availability
Standard warranty = valid per the policy in effect at time of purchase, including new units bought from authorized resellers
Manuals, firmware, software & support documentation = available during the applicable support period
*Spare parts availability may vary by region and is subject to remaining supply. If you anticipate needing specific replacement parts, we recommend purchasing them in a timely manner.

What this means for existing owners
Very little, in practice. Your machine will keep printing, engraving, cutting, and carving exactly as it did yesterday. To be specific:
- Keep using your machine: nothing changes about how it operates.
- Your warranty stands: all machines purchased from Snapmaker or authorized resellers remain covered under the warranty policy applicable at the time of purchase.
- Software and firmware stay available: Luban, firmware, manuals, and support documentation will remain available during the applicable support period. The firmware repositories below are also available as resources. No new features or add-ons will be released for EOL products. Maintenance will focus on stability, security, and compatibility. Compatibility with future third-party slicer versions cannot be guaranteed.

A word about these machines
The Snapmaker 2.0 deserves a moment here. When it launched on Kickstarter in 2019, it became one of the most-funded technology projects in the platform's history, and it introduced hundreds of thousands of people to the idea that one machine could 3D print, laser engrave, and CNC carve without asking you to choose. For many of you, a 2.0 was the first machine in your workshop. For plenty of you, it's still running in the corner today, wearing five years of honest work. The modular, three-in-one philosophy it proved out is the foundation everything we build now stands on.
The J1s brought high-speed IDEX printing, with mirror mode, duplication mode, and true dual-material capabilities, to desktops that had never seen it at that price. And the Ray Series carried our laser capability further than the 2.0's modules could go, teaching us lessons in power and safety design that live on in our current laser lineup.
These products aren't disappearing. They're in workshops, classrooms, garages, and studios all over the world, and they'll stay there, making things, for years to come. That's the retirement they've earned.
Still want one? Authorized resellers may have stock
Remaining inventory may still be available through Snapmaker official channels and authorized resellers while supplies last. Availability varies by product and region. Once official inventory is sold out, these products will no longer be available through our official channels. Genuine products purchased through authorized resellers remain eligible for official technical support and warranty service under the applicable warranty policy. The support dates above apply to the product lines and do not restart with a new purchase. Please contact the reseller directly to confirm stock before ordering.
Looking ahead
If you're considering a new Snapmaker machine, our support team and authorized resellers are happy to recommend a current model based on how you make, whether that's the U1 for unparalleled toolchanger 3D Printing, or the Artisan, the venerable 3-in-1 workhorse. No pressure, though. Your machine isn't going anywhere, and neither are we.

To everyone who backed a Kickstarter campaign, posted a build in the forum, mailed us a feature request, or simply made something: thank you. These machines existed because of you, and what you made with them is the part of this story that doesn't end.
So long, and thanks for all the makes.
