Snapmaker Artisan Latest Update #5 | Wrapping up Pilot Run #2

Hi makers,

We are glad to inform you that Artisan moved on to the stage of mass production last week! In today’s update, we will give you an overview of what we have accomplished in pilot run #2. In pilot run #2, we ran 72 test items of 4 major test types on 4 major modules and parts. To sum up, there was a lot to test for an all-around product like Artisan 3-in-1 3D Printer. But we have learned from the experience of producing Snapmaker 2.0 and managed to cross them off the test list one by one!

Key results

  1. The incoming supplier qualification ratio is 96.13%.
  2. The sample machines and modules qualification ratio is 96.03%.
  3. The finished product qualification ratio is 93.33%. 

Behind these numbers are our detailed test plans for pilot run #2. As always, we want to ensure that we will deliver a solid product to our customers.

The current mass production stage will last from Nov 3 to Dec 23. The estimated duration of the mass production stage could be affected by unexpected factors. For example, some incoming production materials, especially materials related to aluminum alloy, could take 30-60 days to arrive at our production line (usually happens during the first mass production period). Therefore, we have planned a 7-day buffer time after the mass production stage. Stay tuned!

      1. Hi Ignaz. We are sorry for the delay. We are trying our best to speed up production. But we do encounter some problems. A major one is that some incoming production materials, especially materials related to aluminum alloy, could take 30-60 days to arrive at our production line (usually happens during the first mass production period). We will keep you posted.

  1. I’d rather wait and have a solid product delivered than rush to meet an ESTIMATED delivery date made in the early stages of product creation. Thanks for the great updates. Question: Is there a picture of the unit with the spools mounted? Making a cover for the unit but need to know the location(s) if there are more than one, of where the spools are mounted to the enclosure.
